Patterns of Evidence - Exodus; review and giveaway

I was recently given the opportunity to review this DVD.  I felt it would be something that Bob and I would enjoy, as we enjoy history and shows about archeology.  It's always wonderful to see something that we've read about in the Bible, coming up in archeology.
However, it seems that most of the world's most prominent archaeologists and historians say that there is no hard evidence to support the Exodus story found in the Bible.  In fact, they say that the archaeological record is completely opposed to the Bible's account.  This view of extreme skepticism has spread from academia to the world.
The case against the Exodus appears to be so strong that even some religious leaders are labeling this ancient account as historical fiction.  Filmmaker Timothy Mahoney begins with the questions, "Is the Bible just a myth, or did the archaeologists get it wrong?"  He decides to tackle this issue with a deliberate scientific approach.   After examining the details in the biblical text, he journeys across the globe to search for patterns of evidence firsthand.  The result is the most in-depth archaeological investigation into the Exodus from Egypt ever captured on film.   This scientific documentary's goal is to communicate the TRUTH of the Bible and help equip believers with defending their faith and the Bible.
I really appreciated the way he looked into this, with an unbiased approach.  He interviews people who are Jewish, Christian and agnostic and shows us some very interesting things.
The narrator is Actor Kevin Sorbo, and included are guest appearances by Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu and Shimon Peres.
Both Bob and I really enjoyed this one and I think you will too.   You can check out more on this DVD and order it here.
The makers of this DVD are giving a copy to one of my readers.  If you are interested, just leave a comment here.  I'll be drawing a winner and posting it on Saturday.

  2. I'm very interested in your DVD offer. I hadn't heard that academics are now saying there is no biblical evidence for the exodus. In fact I thought there was more and more evidence over time that the events in the Bible are true. It made me wonder why so many people still can't believe in the God of the Bible if the accounts in it are true. Whether I win the DVD or not I'll be interested in learning more about it's contents. Have a great week. x

  6. My husband is a physicist but a strong believer. He has read lots of information from Creation Scientists and he has some opinions that are interesting. He thinks that the dating is faulty based on some carbon dating done after the explosion of Mount St Helens. Things can appear older than they really are...that is my simple explanation as I am not a scientist.lol... But my husband is a deep thinker and I get all my info from him!! We both would like to visit the Creation Museum but we have not made it there yet!!

  10. That looks really cool! We love that type of thing too. I thought I had heard a while back that they found some old chariot wheels in the red sea, supporting the story that Pharoah and his men were drowned when the waters returned. Looks like something to add to the watch list!

  11. This sounds absolutely fascinating Mari! I think my Mom would especially be interested in this so I think I will order this for her (but than I can watch it too). ;) She has been in - and also run - many bible study groups and it's an area she has a lot of expertise. Thanks for sharing! Xo

  13. Chad and Alan love this kind of stuff! Chad attended a Creation conference in Dallas over the weekend and saw the dinosaur footprints along a river. I bet he will be excited to tell us all about it.

He and Alan would love to get this DVD. They are wanting to start some kind of group study like Chad had in PA and this DVD would be a good one to use.

But if someone else gets it, that would be wonderful! It is always wonderful to see people interested in the truth.
