Cooking Thursday

I told you I had some recipes to share from the bridal shower last week.  This is one that was an absolute hit.  This is a coffee slush punch.  It was so good and refreshing!  The funny thing is, there were several people there, including me who didn't like coffee, but we all loved this.  It's perfect for an occasion like this, and it's a bonus that it can be made ahead of time and then just taken out to thaw.  Another bonus is that any that's left over can be refrozen and used later.

Cafe Des' Amies Punch

3 cups strong coffee
2 cups sugar
1 pint half and half
1 quart milk
2 teaspoons vanilla

Stir together and freeze.  Take out of freezer several hours before you need it; it will take more time if it's frozen in a big block, less if in a shallow pan.  Enjoy!

* I double this recipe to make enough for one punch bowl.

  10. Hi Mari! I LOVE coffee, so I think this is a winner for me. I sort of looks like a frappucchino? I'm going to copy this down. I'm having lots of family coming through in the next month, this looks like a wonderful thing to serve on a warm afternoon :)

  13. I am not one to drink coffee....but I think I'd kinda like this.

Wondering instead of milk and vanilla if you could just add ice cream or vanilla yogurt as a substitute choice.

    It LOOKS yummy too,.

  14. That looks absolutely wonderful. I'm a one cup instant coffee drinker in the morning. But, sometimes I drink one at night; it helps me to get sleepy. No one believes me, but it's true. :)

  15. Mari,

I'm passing this along to my daughter. I know she will LOVE It, she loves anything that has coffee in it. Me? I'm just a plain old hot cup of coffee person in the morning.

  18. I'm not very much into coffee, but this looks like it has more milk and sugar than coffee in it...and I do love milk and sugar, so this might work for me!
