The end of an era

Most of you know that whenever Alaina comes over, one of her first things to do, is to find Oliver and hold him. I'm afraid that is about to change.
Oliver is actually Heathers cat and she is taking him to live with them.  I must admit that we're going to miss having him around, but this is going to be tough on Alaina.
Here's a few pictures of her with him from this weekend.

He's pretty long suffering.  I always have to smile at the disgusted look on his face, and the joy on hers.  I guess she'll have to go visit him at Uncle Andrew and Aunt Heathers place!

  1. These photos make me smile! That last photo says it all. I hope Heather will share some photos in the future!

  2. Ohh, those photos really take me back to my daughter as a toddler, and my in-laws equally long suffering cat, a marmalade tom, named Fritz. The cat had been my brother in-law's, but he'd left him with his parents. My daughter Annie just fell in love with him, and lugged him around, cuddled, kissed and petted him. She put him in her doll's carriage.. and through it all, Fritz would tolerate it.. but you'd catch sight of the same expression you see on Oliver's face. I think Alaina will treasure these photographic memories when she grows up.

  3. They really are best buddies. I am sure that Alaina will love to see him at her Aunt Heather's house. I hope they aren't living too far away.

  4. Austin is like that with the dog "cousins". He just can't let them alone when they're here.

  9. Haha...I wonder if Oliver will be looking forward to her visits...

Glad he takes the lovings patiently--we had a sweet cat with a long suffering disposition when I was a little girl, and we loved him dearly.

Alaina has one of the sweetest smiles!

  11. Yes, it looks as though Oliver may enjoy the new arrangement. Lol

Such sweet photos though. Hope they'll be "reunited" many times in the future. Or maybe Alaina needs her own pet?? ;)

  15. Funny how things like that change in our homes. Our cats are like that too and have been something our oldest daughter misses. She often comes over just to visit with them.

  20. So sweet, Mari! It's amazing how resilient kitties are when being handled by toddlers. Hope Alaina gets to visit with him often.
