My good friend Becky offered to bring some food to the church the day of Heathers wedding. She knew we would be there all day and wanted to help out. She brought some heart shaped brownies, cookies, fruit, a veggie tray and this wonderful cheese ball. She had some Pita chips to go with it. We all enjoyed the goodies! I asked for the cheese ball recipe to share with you. She said it's the easiest cheese ball to make and the recipe proves it. Here's it is!
Dried Beef Cheese Ball
2 - 3 ounce packages of chipped beef
2 - 8 ounce packages cream cheese
2 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon Accent
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Chop chipped beef into small pieces.
Stir together softened cream cheese, Accent and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in green onions and chipped beef.
Shape into a ball or place into bowl. Refrigerate overnight.
Serve with crackers or pita chips.
I love that cheese ball. We have had it several times over the years and I never tire of it.
ReplyDeleteThat looks and sounds really good. I'll keep this in mind when family will be over. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mari!
The last time I saw chipped beef in the grocery, it came in those glass containers with a metal pop-off cap. I remember my mom buying it to make chipped beef on toast for my dad, who loved the stuff from his days in the navy. I love a good cheese ball, is that how chipped beef is still sold, or is there another type of packaging I should look for?
ReplyDeleteI love a good cheese ball. Looks delicious. This recipe is close to the one I make every year at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteDelicious...I've made something very similar for get togethers...and this is a perfect, easy way.
ReplyDeletePS...that Wordless post below this...looks mighty, down-right COLD.
I've had that cheese ball before and it is yummy! What a precious friend to volunteer to bring food for the wedding reception.
ReplyDeleteMary - I buy chipped beef in small bags in the area where I buy lunch meat.
ReplyDeleteHow very thoughtful of your friend! This looks delicious! Thank you for the recipe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful friend! Bless her for being so thoughtful.....I've been the Mother of the Bride a few times, I know how it is :)
ReplyDeleteLove a good cheese ball. Will be making this one for my family and they wil love it! Thanks for sharing!
I was looking for something to make during tonight's hockey game and I think I'll make this. Looks YUMMY!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful friend you have. The recipe sounds delicious.
ReplyDeleteThat is an old recipe, and one we used to make all the time. Gosh, I hadn't thought of it in years! You can also use ham, instead of beef. Now I need an occasion to make it again. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a very kind and caring friend you have to think of you in that way! That is what real friends are made of isn't it. xx
ReplyDeleteSo thoughtful and sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteA few summers ago I made some rainbow skewers of fruit (you take and skewer different colors of fruit all the same on each skewer and when you line them up looks like rainbow) for the bridesmaids to nibble on and my daughter who was the flower girl.
They appreciated it so much and the skewers even made it into the wedding photos of the gals getting ready! Lol
I haven't seen that beef in a long time, I didn't know they still made it. I love that cheese ball, though. It's a great recipe. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds absolutely heavenly!!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe and think that even eating them with bagel chips would be amazing too!
ReplyDeleteLove and Hugs ~ Kat
The Bennie loves this recipe. We had to go buy him size larger jeans today so hope he doesn't see this post. But he will he keeps up with all the blogs.
ReplyDeleteYUM! I love a good cheese ball! What a nice thing for her to do for you guys.
ReplyDeleteBecky is a great friend to help you out like that! This is a good cheese ball. I have made it every New Year's Eve since our children were young. It is easy and good, too. (My version is that I add some sharp cheese and form it into a ball. I put the dried beef in a blender and roll the ball around on the beef to cover the ball.)
ReplyDeleteOh, I know everyone in our family would really like that cheese ball. And, you know I forget about dried beef. That and milk gravy on toast; so good. :)
ReplyDeletexoxo
This sounds so good.
