I recently found this recipe that tastes like chicken pot pie, but looks prettier. We all liked it!
Chicken Pot Pie Crescent Braid
1 can Pillsbury Recipe Creations (if not available, you can use crescent rolls and press the perforations out.)
1 cup cooked chicken
1 cup frozen peas and carrots
1/2 cup cream of chicken condensed soup
4 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In
a large bowl, combine the frozen veggies, cheddar cheese, and chicken.
In a separate bowl mix together the cream cheese and the condensed soup.
Add it to the chicken-veggie mixture.
Spread the crescent roll dough out on parchment paper and place that on a baking pan. Leaving three inches
in the middle, make cuts down the side of the dough an inch apart on
both sides.
Spread
the chicken-veggie-soup mixture down the middle of the dough. Take a
strip of dough from one side and fold it over the middle mixture. Then
take a strip from the other side and fold it over the middle. Continue
down the dough, alternating sides until it is completely folded over.
Pinch the ends of the dough to keep the filling inside while it bakes.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes so that the top is nice and golden brown.
Let stand about 10 minutes before cutting into it.
Hi Mari, this looks so good and thank you for sharing the recipe. This would be good during the busy Christmas season.

This looks/sounds great.
ReplyDeleteThat looks really good and to us, anything made using crescent rolls is the best.
ReplyDeleteYou lost me on the dough cutting! You'll have to start putting pictures of the various steps like the food bloggers do, hahaha!!
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy. I don't think this will work on Weight Watchers. I'm trying so hard. Maybe this could be one of my recipes for Christmas. I loved the one you posted last week. I did it and ate most of the chicken. David ate the good stuff. Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that so pretty! I love the look of that!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so good...you always have the best recipes, Mari! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteoh, I like that, Mari. And, making it this way leaves a lot of unneeded bread/dough. So it should be lighter. I'm going to try it and try NOT to burn the house down. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Looks good. We actually had turkey pot pie tonight.
ReplyDeleteWow. That looks so impressive! I'm tempted to have a go at making this :)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, pot pies. One of my favorite dishes. Now this looks so very scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteWould not be Joe's favorite, but I would LOVE this!! My mom always made turkey pot pie with Bisquick, as the last hoorah for the Thanksgiving turkey. Always yummy to me!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so delicious. I'm definitely going to try it. Thanks for sharing your recipe... :)
ReplyDeleteComfort food, fast and delicious...perfect combination :)

ReplyDeleteHi Mari! This looks so elegant! You did a great job on the crust. I think I would take out the peas (not a big fan), but the rest of it sounds heavenly. I bet it really fills you up too!
ReplyDeleteThursday blessings,
Ceil

ReplyDeleteLooks delicious! We enjoyed turkey pot pies a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty! I often make the basic soup pot-pie with Bisquick topping, but this does look nicer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a different version of a "pie", it looks lovely. xx
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine how all that stays together, but with your patience and talent, I am sure that it works.
