We had such fun!

We had Alaina overnight last weekend. She's growing up so quickly and seems to change every time she comes over.  She was full of energy this time and she talks non-stop!  She was a Grandpa's girl on Friday night and wandered all over the yard with him.
Here they are checking out the flowers.

And heading to the "park" which is what she calls the area where the swing set is.

Looking at more flowers...

Playing ball...

Riding the trike...

Taking the balls for a ride...

And just enjoying each other!

When she came inside I showed her this picture from Mildred of Blackberry Lane.  Mildred remembered that Alaina likes these "silly boys" as she calls them and sent me this picture of one in her neighborhood.  Alaina laughed at it and said she wanted to go see it.  I told her it lived far away and she said she wanted it to come here. Thanks Mildred!

On Saturday, she helped me in the kitchen.  I heard many refrains of "I'll help you Grandma" and "can I have some?"  Here you see her licking off a spoon, and getting it all over herself, even in her hair.  We got her cleaned up, played with toys and read some books before bringing her home.  The house is always a little too quiet when she leaves!  We're so blessed that her parents are willing to share her with us for a while!

  1. Hi Mari,
It is fun to watch Alaina grow up through your photos. She is such a pretty girl. I love the photo of her on her trike. What a blessing for her to be able to visit with you. Glad she liked the PINK silly boy!

  3. What precious times. Your pictures are so beautiful, but that's understandable with such a beautiful subject as Alaina, and Bob, and the love they share. She is really looking like a big girl! xoxo

  7. Someone said, 'I wish I had known how much fun grandchildren are, I would have had them first!' She is a little doll and I know she is a blessing to you both. The picture truly tell a story.

  13. Those are beautiful pictures, Mari, and of course, I had to click on everyone to see everything. Annie carries a stick around too! Too cute! Girls love their wagons.

I loved looking at Bob's gardens too! I like the grasses. They dwarf the other plants and makes the gardens seem much bigger than they are. I love walking among them. Good job, Bob!

  16. Oh Mari! Your backyard is GORGEOUS, and your little Alaina is a little angel too. What a fun day and night for her, as she enjoys your husband's company, and helps you in the kitchen. You are so lucky to have her so close by.

    Blessings,

  18. So Cute! Her hair is getting long--very pretty! The house is always so quiet after a visit from the grandkids. We'll have one next Friday nt. We are taking each of Doug's kids and having that child only, so each one gets special one on one attention,
