Bob's mom arranged for us to use a room at the independent living facility she lives at. The room was really nice and no one had to worry about getting their house ready. :)
(my girls)
We started the evening with a little laugh, when Laura and Heather both arrived wearing khaki capri's and a navy top. My sisters and I have been teased for doing the same thing, so we told Laura and Heather they were taking after me.
We started with supper; chicken salad croissants, fruit salad, veggies and dip and this yummy cake.
Here's a few guests from left to right:
Laura, niece Alicia, Bob's sister Karla, Mom and his sister Diane
Of course there were gifts to open!
And games to play...
You can see that there were a few people that got a lot of candy. That was from this game:
This was a memory game. These squares were covered by numbered post-it notes. People had to choose 2 squares, trying to match a phrase with a candy. If they got it right they got the candy. Some examples of match ups: Airheads - bridesmaids, Lifesavers - parents, Nerds - in-laws, Sweet Tarts - bride and groom, Baby Ruth - something we'll all be waiting for... It was a fun game.
Here's Tricia with a picture of Chris - she was trying to make a face to match his. :)
This was another game. Each person was given a sealed envelope when they arrived. They all opened them together. Each one had a picture of some famous man, but one had this picture of the groom. The envelope with the groom was the winner.
It was a fun night and we're all looking forward to the wedding in August.
My mouth is watering for chicken salad, lol. --what anice time..your daughter is so pretty. Blessings
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun! And the 'twins' look cute in their matching outfits. haha.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful evening for all concerned. What a fun time together. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAnd you're waiting for a new baby too! Your girls are beautiful! What a fun party!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice photo of your daughters. Looks like a fun party. A party with cake is always fun!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though you all had a great time, I am sure that the bride enjoyed it too! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice shower. I wish the handsome couple all the best!
ReplyDeleteHow fun....and another exciting event in your family!!
ReplyDeleteThat was a simple and delicious menu to choose. Looks like you ate well and had a great time. :>)
ReplyDeleteShowers can be so much fun and yours looked as if it was. The food sounds good, the cake was perfect, and the games fun. Your daughters are so pretty (like their mother) and the idea of having the shower some place other than home is an excellent idea!
ReplyDeleteFirst let me say, your girls have such beautiful smiles. They radiate the love of the Lord and of family. Laura looks fantastic. Second, I thank God for what appears to have been a clean and wholesome bridal shower! Furthermore I wish Tricia and Chris a blissful marriage replete with passion, prosperity, and pretty babies. xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely shower you gave her. She will always remember her special day. I don't think I've ever seen both of your girls together before. They are both very pretty and they both look a lot like their mom!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of using the room that was available so no one had to prepare their home. How fun to have the shower, and a wedding soon.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it was a great success. That candy game would be fun. I really hate some of the games at showers, but that one would be fun. Great idea to have it in a party room, rather than someone's house, for the very reason you mentioned. Thanks for sharing the fun!
ReplyDeleteThe games DO sound like great fun! (I'm always on the look-out for good ones...)
ReplyDeleteBridal showers are so much fun. The bride looks like she is a fun person to be around. Your girls look beautiful. I like their outfits too.
