Cooking Thursday

I'm sharing one of our favorite sandwiches/easy suppers today.  This is one that I usually make up the day before I'm going to use it, then all I have to do is spread the meat on buns and broil them.  They're yummy!

Open Face Cheeseburgers

1 pound hamburger, browned
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons minced onion
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 tablespoon mustard
8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
8 hamburger buns, sliced.
Mix browned hamburger with salt and minced onion.  Stir in cream of chicken soup and mustard, then stir in shredded cheese.
You can now place mix in the refrigerator until ready to use.
When ready to use, microwave mix for 1-2 minutes, just until it's soft enough to stir and spread,
Spread mix onto bun halves, then place under broiler until browned.  Enjoy!

  2. These remind me of Jitterbugs. Have you ever had them? I think they were ground beef, onion and brown gravy on a slice of bread.

  8. I will have to try this. When I make stuffed peppers, there is always way more meat than I need. I could put that meat aside and use it later with this recipe. Sounds and looks wonderful!:>)
