Have you noticed that work on your house is never done? You finish one room and the next needs work. The same thing is true for landscaping. I'm lucky that Bob is not only good at it, but he enjoys working on our yard.
Last week he spent a lot of time working on our back yard.
The back of our yard was filled with trees which would have been fine, except a lot of them were scraggly or dying. He went through the area and cut down a lot of them. The ones that are left are healthy.
He plans to get some nice pine or spruce tree and put them along the edge. He also wants to put a little trail with shade loving flowers in the wooded spot.
I think it's going to look nice!
What a lovely space! It's a wonderful thing when the husband likes working in the yard :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like an outdoor haven to rest and read. Of course, you may need the insect repellent if you stay too long. I love the path. What a great place. Believe it or not, I did yard work today. My nephew needed some money and he and I worked in the yard. We are still getting up limbs from the ice storm. Every time it rains, we get more branches that are broken and have yet to fall. During the ice storm, a limb fell on a man in our community and it killed him. He was a young man with a young son so getting under these trees scares me. For now, my yard is free of debris and there is green in spots:)
ReplyDeleteIt already looks lovely, but your plans sound fantastic. What a beautiful spot!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little jealous of your trees....and that bench is sweet. There IS always something to do, isn't there. (As you know, we've taken advantage of a few cool days here to enjoy our yard and do the few things we're able to do this season.) A local friend of mine just posted that her daughter had "tons" of mosquito bites...and after just a few minutes the other day at a nature preserve, we came home with a tick. NOT so pleasant :)
ReplyDeleteI think it looks nice now, so am sure whatever hubby does, will only make it more so. Work inside or out, is never done! Have a nice holiday weekend. Hope you dont have to work.
ReplyDeleteAt least you have a yard..here we have a little square-postage size stamp yard (lol). Very pretty Mari..I like it the way it is..but I am sure Bob will fix it up to make it prettier. Blessings (can't wait to see new pictures)
ReplyDeleteso beautiful! I am lucky that my husband enjoys yard work too because I do not! And I have a rather black thumb!!

ReplyDeleteI love shade gardens. I can't wait to see what he does with it.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely backyard, but you are right, nice yards do require lots of work. This is going to look really great when you are finished.
ReplyDeleteI KNOW it'll look nice. And when it's done...you just hafta give us an update.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so nice and restful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a peaceful, beautiful back yard! I can't imagine it looking better, but sounds like Bob has a plan. Can't wait to see the "after" photos!!
