This is the top of a bush near our house. It was nearly covered in snow, but it's peeking out a little more every day.
Snow is melting on the roof and draining down the eaves!
You may remember that I shared a picture of this same spot in our yard here, where the fence was nearly covered and the chair was about to disappear in the snow.
It's proof that the snow is going away, slowly but surely!
It's been a record setting year here in Michigan. Just last week the ice cover on the Great Lakes made it to 93%. The first 1 1/2 weeks of March there were records set every day in my area for amount of snow on the ground. There have been numerous records broken for cold and snowfall.
This past Saturday it hit 50 degrees for the first time this Spring. This morning it was back to 9 degrees but I can deal with it, knowing that Spring is coming!
So thankful that you are seeing signs of spring. John's friends in Roseville say they have never had this much snow.
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely a Northern gal. You have a great "winter" attitude! Fun seeing your winter photos!
ReplyDeleteThe sun has been so bright and beautiful against the snow. We had 7 degrees on Monday morning.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if you had polar bears living in your neighborhood :) I'm sure you will really appreciate spring once it finally arrives in your part of the world.
ReplyDeleteHang on Mari, spring is coming..blessings
ReplyDeletePraying the snow will continue to melt and spring will show it's face even more. Happy Tuesday.
ReplyDeletePrayers for a soon coming Spring. Yesterday was cold and rain for us and today appears to be the same. Our truck from the storm is still in the shop so I'm home-bound another week. I've read all the books andmy kindle is dead and I can't find the USB cord. ugh. I've done my devotions and played with cat and just can't make myself clean, not with this mess! So,I'm stuck in with nothing to do. Please pray for a job.
ReplyDeleteI think it is probably a good thing that the snow is melting slowly. The water has to be absorbed and there will be flooding if it happens too fast. It is amazing to see the fence and chair emerging from the snow banks!!
ReplyDeletei've seen sneak peaks of spring on and off here in TN and its a gorgeous one!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be so happy for you when not one jot of snow remains in Michigan. SOON!!!! xoxo Jenny
ReplyDeleteSpring indeed!!! A very promising sight you've shared today. I'm sure you're ready for it.
ReplyDeleteps....hope you're feeling MUCH better!!
ReplyDeleteYahoo!!! Let it melt let it melt let it melt!!
ReplyDeleteYahoo! I am so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteHappy days are here again.
I hope you're feeling better now, Mari. It sounds like spring is just around the corner! That dripping downspout is a very good sign. :)
ReplyDeleteGood! Spring is sure on it's way here in the UK too. We've had no snow at all so far this year and I doubt we will now. Famous last words. :D
ReplyDeleteOur snow has all melted except some plowed piles. But it's still so very cold many days. The cold temps and the ugly brown blah-ness everywhere I look is getting hard to take. But YES!! It IS March, not December, and the evenings are daylight, so I can survive. Warm weather will never have felt so wonderful when it finally comes to stay (at least until next fall.) But we won't go there!
