We had Bob's family party on Saturday. Most of the family was able to be there and a good time was had by everyone there!
There was plenty of food. We had pizza, and everyone brought goodies. Laura brought this beautiful Pumpkin Toffee Cake. No one left hungry!
Here's the whole group eating. Bob has 2 sisters and 3 brothers, so it's a pretty big group.
This cutie is the newest member of the family. Olivia is 9 months old.
Alaina opening her present.
Bob's mom opening a gift.
Alaina had such fun playing with Bob's nephews son. They seem to have unending energy. :)
Having fun coloring with Aunt Diane.
Bob's Mom and step-dad.
They had a very busy week, as they downsized and moved to an independent living community. It's not easy to make that decision or to decide what you want to keep and what to get rid of. They enjoyed this time with family and I hope they get to have peace and quiet in the upcoming week.
Fun pictures...and that pumpkin torte looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove the last photo and that they dressed alike. How adorable. I hope they love their new living spot!
Mari,
ReplyDeleteA lovely family get-to-gether and a reminder to each of us about how important loved ones are to us.
Blessings to you at Christmas and throughout the coming year.
I want the pumpkin toffee cake, please.
ReplyDeleteA great moment :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get your page last night but now it is. The party looks like a great deal of fun. I admire elderly couples that move into "independent living communities", it must be a very tough decision, brave really, and I'd never even thought of them having to give up so much stuff too. Very tough.
ReplyDeleteBeing with family is really 'Christmas' fun and looks like you all had lots of it. Independent living community would be my first choice as I dont want to live with my children! lol
ReplyDeleteSeriously, this is such an uplifting, loving post. And the newest, Olivia, is another doll-face...I think it runs in the genes!!
ReplyDeleteAssisted, Independent Living is something I think I would like myself if anything happens in the future that calls for that decision.
What a lovely post! Thank you for sharing. I sure love looking at your pictures and reading about your family! Blessings
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great party! And his mom and step dad are so cute.
ReplyDeleteOh Mari, how wonderful to have such a large family and get them all in one place to celebrate!! That is a great picture of Bob's folks, and bless them for making the move on their own to a more secure living arrangement. The retirement (independent to assisted) communities down here are beautiful, well run, and the perfect place to retire to. It's a smart thing to do, and must make all of you feel better, knowing they are being looked after, while still able to be independent and enjoy life.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than special family times. That cake looked yummers!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love big family get-togethers! I appreciate them more nw that we live so far away from our parents and extended family.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas. How I enjoyed these wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteAlaina and her little friend look like they are having a great time. Family gathering are wonderful. We are having the Arment family in for a Vintage Christmas Feast this coming Saturday. It should be fun.
