Vacation!

Bob and I both had last week off from work. We didn't have plans to leave the area, just wanted to enjoy the time and get a few things done. The biggest project was planned for the first Saturday. Bob wanted to get it out of the way so he could enjoy the rest of the week. His barn/woodshop was in need of new shingles.

It was a crazy weather day.  We woke up to thunder and and a downpour and then the sun came out. It was humid and hot, but then we would have a few more sprinkles.
It took all day, but they finished by 5 and the roof looks great!

Here's our helpers - daughter Laura, nephew Nick and brother Mark. We sure did appreciate them.  I watched Alaina and fed them all.  :)

The fun part of vacation started Monday.  We decided that Bob and I would plan a few days of fun in our area.  I took Monday and Friday, and he planned Wednesday.  We didn't want to fill the whole week, so left the other days empty.  Neither of us knew what the other had planned, so that was part of the fun.  Tomorrow I'll tell you what we did on Monday.

  6. What a great idea to surprise the other one with your selection. Love that idea. It will be fun for us to get to "follow-along" as you share each one. Smart getting the "work" out of the way at first. That's the way I do everything. I always tackle the hardest first and once it is done the other chores are not so difficult.

  11. What a good idea to plan your time off so that you could make the most of it. And to get a major task done, too, is icing on the cake.
I envy people who have no fear of height. I don't know that I can stand on the roof! :)
Welcome "back!" :) Looking forward to your stories of what you did.
