I love this time of year! The longer days, sunshine, blue skies and the flowers just make me happy! It seems every time I walk around there yard, something new is blooming. Here's a few of the latest things I'm seeing.
Aren't these unusual? They're called sea holly. They make a nice accent with their brilliant color.
This lily is a new one in our yard. It's loaded with flowers.
The lavender is just starting to open. It smells heavenly!
Here's a shot of our back yard. Bob added the flower bed in the front of the picture a few years ago and it's doing really well this year.
And here is one more thing that's growing in our yard...
This baby squirrel! Isn't he cute?
Your backyard is like a park! I would retreat everyday to that peaceful bliss! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images! Looks like a wonderful place to live!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so beautiful. Cute little squirrel.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a gardener but I love your sea holly and your back yard.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous backyard! So lovely!
ReplyDeleteSea holly? I've never heard of that but it is really pretty!
All my favourites - especially the sea holly. Ours doesn't seem to have come up this year though :(
ReplyDeleteYour yard is just beautiful, Mari. I love the sea holly. Wonder if it would grow in Florida? You must spend a lot of time in your yard/garden. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely garden you have :)
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks like a well manicured garden and somewhere peaceful to be. The flowers are all beautiful and unusual.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful yard. I would love to have some sea holly for accent color and that baby squirrel is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteOh my SOUL that squirrel! He reminds me somehow of Alaina. And that BOB with his gardening ... he is a true artiste. It is hard to believe we've passed the longest day and they're getting shorter again, bit by bit. I haven't dipped so much as a toe in the pool yet. Well, maybe a toe but just a toe.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful backyard. Isn't it nice to see a new bed filling in? I've never heard of sea holly, it does add some nice color. Pretty lilies. Love the little squirrel growing in your yard, too!
ReplyDeleteYour back yard is beautiful..
ReplyDeleteI am always in awe when you post pictures of your garden. I aspire to tidiness, but never quite achieve it! I saw some of that sea holly when we were in Virginia last year and have wanted some ever since, it's most unusual.
ReplyDeleteYour sea holly is lovely! I must look for it at the garden centers.
ReplyDeleteYour gardens get lovelier every year.
