Tulip Time

Every May,  Holland, Michigan is host to Tulip Time. People come from all over to see the beautiful tulips, see the Dutch dancers and see Dutch heritage in West Michigan. There are Windmills, parades, wooden shoes, shopping and most of all - tulips!
We live about 20 minutes from Holland and usually go to see the tulips, but we don't always go during the official week as we like to avoid the crowds.  So, we went this past weekend to check out the flowers and they didn't disappoint.

Pictures don't do justice to a field with rows and rows of tulips.

Here's a few different varieties.

They are beautiful in mass and also individually.

Have you ever seen a fringed tulip?

We had a great time walking around, enjoying the flowering trees and the tulips.

  1. I can only imagine how beautiful the seas of color looked in person, if you photos don't do them justice! Just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Oh such beautiful Tulips. Your shots are lovely Our Tulip festival is all of April and the growers in Skagit Valley have all the fields full of rows of colorful tulips. They were early this year so by mid April they were gone already. Mother Nature is not to be messed with. LOL!!

  9. Your pictures are so wonderful, but I imagine that you cannot capture the total ravishing color of these flowers. I bet you are saying, "You just have to be there to see it!" They are beauties, indeed!
