Making Quarantine fun

This past weekend was my weekend to work.  We continue with the flu at our facility, although most of our residents are getting better.  We did lose one of our sweet ladies, who had really been declining lately and just couldn't handle another sickness.  One of our men is in the hospital and he's also not doing well.
In the meantime, we continue to be quarantined, and although many of our residents are confused and don't necessarily  realize they haven't had visitors, some are really missing their loved ones.
We've all had to wear these lovely masks with any care. Today the aides decided to decorate a few masks and give the residents some laughs.  They're pretty creative, don't you think?

  4. Sorry about the lady you lost, that's sad.

I think the masks are very creative! You should market them and sell them on ebay!

  5. creative indeed!!! and fun too.

Too bad for the loss, it's always difficult to lose a patient...especially when you get to know them so well in the home.

BTW...I've been meaning to stop by and ask you about flu shots------I read online news the other day, and one woman who was a nurse at an Illinois hospital was fired because she refused a flu vaccine for herself? Do you agree with the firing? ---I think it would be so simple to wear the face masks...if a nurse or doctor refuses...that is their constitutional right, isn't it? I would like input on this subject....

  9. I like the kitten one best. :>)
I'm glad you all can find a way to smile and make others smile too. Attitude makes a huge difference. I'm sorry for the loss of the lady--that's got to be a tough part of your job. But I would say she had good care from all of you and that's something to feel good about.
