Going hunting!

Alaina was over again this weekend, and I'll spare you from the scads of pictures I took. I just had to share these few from the big game hunt that took place quite regularly while she was here.
At the sound of Olivers bell, Alaina would stop what she was doing and look for him, then take off trying to catch him.
Grandpa was often willing to help in this hunt.

Here they had followed Oliver from the dining room, into the living room.

Sometimes you have to squeeze into small places to chase your prey.

Thankfully, Grandpa is a pretty good big game catcher!
The hunt usually ended with Oliver getting a kiss and a little rub.
We've decided Oliver is getting used to her, he doesn't run from her like he used to, and often flopped down right near her, although I do think he probably enjoys the peace he gets when she goes home.

  5. Big smile as I look at Grampa on the floor with Alaina--such fun!
Our cats will allow a grandchild near them when there is only one here, but the 4 of them scare the cats into hiding. (Actually, the ones they fear the most are the 5 and 7 yr. olds--they unite in their quests to capture the cats!)

Tolerant expression on Oliver's face. It kind of looks like he's thinking,"Well I guess I'll just have to put up with this nice petting. Sigh/Purr."

  7. Awwww - so cute! What a fun game!

When I had Peter, our cat hated to hear him cry and eventually ran away. Loved that cat, but I love Peter more! ;)

  9. Ohhhhhhh, such a sweetie. She's only curious, and I'm sure Oliver understands. May not appreciate her curiosity, but he knows.

Fabulous photos. And, to be honest, I wouldn't mind tons of photos you share of her. She's the granddaughter I wanted. LOL

  12. That is so cute, love to see grandpa crawling around with that little one. Oliver will get used to her but he may never like all that attention. Typical for a cat.
