Last week a friend from work invited some of us to join her at a concert.
Apparently, every week there is an outdoor jazz concert at the band stand at the zoo in Grand Rapids. She and her husband go every week, sit out on the lawn with a picnic supper and enjoy the music.
None of us at work had heard about it, and thought it sounded like fun. We made a plan to join them, but then it turned out to be one of those record setting hot days we've been having.
Did we want to sit outside when it was about 100 degrees?
We decided to go for it!

And here's our happy little group. We enjoyed the concert and the good time we had together - even in the heat!
That sounds like a lot of fun...maybe more fun if it was, oh, 80 degrees. haha. What a cute little group of girls there! :)
ReplyDeleteYou all look very happy, and I think you are crazy brave to go out in 100 degree heat for the concert. Bravo to the musicians too.
ReplyDeletefun!! glad to see the coolers in the crowd so people stayed properly hydrated in the weather.
ReplyDeleteI would have politely declined, I just can't take the 1OO degree weather. However, I'm glad you went, it looks like a sweet time with good friends.
ReplyDeletesounds like picnic pops but cheaper. i think this sounds like a lot of fun
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun despite the heat! Love concerts in the park!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a lot of fun. I've never been to a concert in a park.
ReplyDeleteLooks like y'all had a blast, despite the heat! How fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun! Music, friends, food... Oh yeah!
ReplyDeleteOur son and his wife live in Elkhart, IN, and they have a similar weekly concert in a park near their house throughout the summer. I'd love to go one of these years when we're in the U.S.
That does sound like fun!!
ReplyDeleteI think we just have to tolerate the heat or we would not get to do anything outside this year. Glad you got to go.
Hugs
We've actually had a lovely week of sun, it's started to rain but it's been really hot, but I'm not complaining at all. It looks like you had fun too, and it's nice to see your group of friends. :)
ReplyDeletewow - my hat is off to you - although in 100 degree heat it is better to keep it on.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the concert.
Bud and I would LOVE the concerts!! Especially if it's good 'old' jazz.
ReplyDelete...just popping in during a break in my genealogy research to give you a big Texas "Howdy"!!!
you ladies look 'cool' ... wouldn't believe it is sweltering out there!!!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just have to force yourself not to listen to that voice that says, "Stay home, it's too . . ." When I do this, I always enjoy myself. Sure looks that is the case here. Wonderful pice of you and your friends!:>)
ReplyDeleteOutdoor concerts are one of my favorite summertime things, but I'm afraid I couldn't have braved 100 degrees. I wish I could send you some of the rain we've been having!
