Our little Alaina is 6 months old! She is now sitting up on her own and has 2 teeth.
She's also going through a phase of being scared of people. Bob's Mom just came back from Florida after spending much of the winter there, so we stopped with Alaina to see her, but Alaina wasn't happy about this plan at all. She cried almost the whole time we were there, so I couldn't get a picture of her with great-grandma.
After we got back to our house, she was her usual happy self.
Here she and Oliver are, checking out her basket of toys.

Hanging out with Aunt Heather
Then it was feeding time. Laura had sent us a video showing us Alaina's new talent. She's learned to blow raspberries, while eating. As you can imagine, this makes quite a mess.
We told Bob he had to feed her, as he's been the one trying to teach this to her (Although not while she's eating!)
All those milestones--each one important and fun to see and record in some way.
ReplyDeleteBoth Sara's children have gone through that afraid stage and since we only see them once or twice a year, it has been with us. Sara warned me both times, so I knew to keep my distance, talk quietly to Aaron or Abby, and wait for him or her to reach out to me in some way. Hard to do when you have limited time with them!
She's adorably cute, Mari! :>)
aww...she is such a cutie and such blue eyes! Raspberries with a mouth full of baby food...oh dear! lol!
ReplyDeleteShe is a beautiful child. Love when you blog about her.
ReplyDeleteOh I remember Austin's "raspberry" stage! Our Lisa went through a major "strange" phase. It was not fun, but it did pass.
ReplyDeleteAdorable pics!
I heard you took her to work - and I wasn't there in the morning! bummer for me...
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet little face!
ReplyDeleteAh, I forgot the mess that babies make when they eat, you did well!
ReplyDeleteThose eyes!!!! Those cheeks!!!! What a doll. And not to leave Oliver out...he's the 'cat's meow'!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this share Mari. I can tell, you're so proud.
Too bad Bob didn't get sprayed with a raspberry while feeding her. [just kiddin']
What fun you are having!
ReplyDeleteI just wish grandpa/grandma would buy that child some toys; poor child doesn't have any toys to play with when she visits. lol
I so remember Ruthie going through that stage. Sometimes she still does! LOL! She is growing up way too fast and she is ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteLooks like she did much better eating than the video Laura posted :)
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute even with a messy face! I remember my girls getting scared like that but around 8 months or so.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, she has the most kissable face, even when messy! There is nothing to compare to the joy a baby brings, even to those of us who only get to see the sweet pictures!
ReplyDeleteWow! She makes me "almost" want another baby around. :)
ReplyDeleteps. No more eggs for me, I think - so even if I did have another baby in the house, he or she couldn't come from me. Guess I gotta wait for grandbabies.
Oh my goodness she is just darn cute! I am waiting to see the video of her blowing raspberries!!
ReplyDeleteI really think it only would have been fair of her to blow some raspberries on grandpa! Now that she's back home, she's back to doing it to me! And now she's been doing it with her milk too! What a mess... And it's so hard not to laugh at her because she's so cute when she does it!
ReplyDeleteCould that child get any cuter? This is the big question. Honestly she is just incredibly beautiful. I know how your heart bursts when you see her! She looks to be quite the personality too!
