Ready or not - Winter is coming!

The winter forecast for our area isn't good. All of our local weathermen are predicting above normal snowfall with a few major storms.
Last week we had our first snowfall.
Usually the first snowfall is just some snowflakes gently falling, but not this time!

Usually the snow doesn't accumulate on the ground - but this time it did!

There wasn't a lot of snow by the next morning, but there was enough for my niece Halle to make this cute little snowman. I think she may have been the only person in the area that was happy about the snow. :)

  4. What a contrast...the fall leaves with a slight covering of snow.

Halle has the right idea...build a snowman! So cute!

  5. We were at 60º yesterday morning. It rained last night after a windy day. Today we are at 58º and that is worrisome as it sometimes fools plants to think it is spring and they bloom and then it freezes and kills them.

  8. What a cute snowman. I am never ready for that white stuff but I know that it is coming.
In our area it always seems like it has to rain before the snow so that we have ice.
    Have a nice day.

  10. Mar, the picture of it snowing is beautiful...yes, the first snow fall is always exciting but the glee can escape as the season continues......

It has already snowed in the mountains of NC but it wasn't enough to stay on the ground but I know it's coming....It's suppose to be a cold winer here in NC as well....

    Stay warm...

  11. The first snowfall - the one that melts the next day, is the only one that I like!
I feel an urgency to really stock up for the winter, all the forecasts are beginning to put me in a survival mode, LOL!
As usual, your pictures are cool!

  12. Gosh that was quite a downfall of snow! None here in the UK yet and that suits fine. It's been pretty mild here.
