Every Thursday I join Sandra in her Cooking Thursday feature. This week she is going back to her roots, and is having a Slow Cooking Thursday post.
I used to take part in this and it was fun to come up with a slow cooker recipe again.
I've shared this one before, but it's been a long time and it's one of our favorites. I don't know about you but we eat more sandwiches in the summer, so this is good for the season too.
For more recipes, visit Sandra at Diary of a SAHM.
French Dip Sandwiches
1 3-lb beef chuck roast
2 cups water
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tsp rosemary
1 tsp garlic powder
3-4 whole peppercorns
1 tsp dried thyme
1 bay leaf
slices of swiss or colby jack cheese
bakery style hot dog buns
Place roast in slow cooker. Stir together water, soy sauce and seasoning. Pour over roast. Cook on low for 10-12 hours till meat is very tender. Shred meat with 2 forks. Place on hot dog bun with a slice of cheese. Pour broth into individual small cups and serve with sandwich for dipping.
Thanks for the recipe!! Sounds delicious!

I'm with you in eating simpler meals in the summer! This sounds very tasty!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes....me too. I dread cooking in the heat of the summer, and sandwiches are always good. Actually, year 'round. LOL
