Sandra, over at Diary of a SAHM is hosting Cooking Thursday today. Stop over at her place for some great recipes!
The recipe I have today is one I got when I was in 9th grade, from the wife of one of my teachers. It's easy to make, but really good. Sorry I don't have a picture, you'll have to take my word that they are really quite pretty!
Thank You Squares
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 can Cherry Pie Filling
Powdered Sugar
Cream butter, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add almond flavoring, flour and baking powder and mix in.
Pour into greased 15"x 10" pan. Cut into 24 squares. Drop 1 tablespoon cherry pie filling into the center of each square.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
