It's been raining and sleeting today. The snow is melted and the bayou of the Grand River near us is flooding. The bayou usually only occupies the back part of this shot, but as you can see, it's overflowed the banks!

ReplyDeleteHope no residences were flooded or folks hurt because of the bayou jumping its banks! It looks so cold and dreary too!
ReplyDeleteI was going to wash the car today, but what's the point - we got more snow, it's melting and the salt and slush are horrible. A friend lost a car wheel trying to negotiate the potholes. We're so tired of winter this year, and yet we don't want to be malcontents and complainers.

Yes, it certainly has overflowed. It is scary seeing how much damage flooding can do. I hope no homes are in danger there.
ReplyDeleteI saw on the news last night that your area of the country was getting hit with lots of moisture again...like you need more. The photo, tho flooded and not good...it's still a pretty photo!!

We have a lot of that happening here right now too, only we don't have a bayou...ours is the Shasta Dam releasing the water into the Sacramento River. Amazing how much power water has, and yet God could ripple it just by touching it with his finger. I don't think we have even a little understanding of his power!

ReplyDeleteIn a strange sort of way I find this picture comforting. It almost looks the way I feel to day as I tried to explain on my blog. It's not foggy, but eerie and calming. Does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteWow, that doesn't look good at all! We've felt the effects of the storm over here: an electrical pole at work caught fire yesterday, the transformer exploded and we lost all power and our phone lines!

When I looked at the picture my first thought was, "Are those buffalo in the water?" Then I read that is was the river near you. I hope this is not too close to you.
