Works for me Wednesday

It's time for another Wednesday tip. To see what tips some other bloggers are sharing, stop at We are THAT Family.
My tip involves your dishwasher. I don't know about you, but sometimes mine can get a little stale smelling. I recently read a tip about making it smell fresh again. I tried it and it worked!
When the dishwasher is empty, run it for about 30 seconds, then pour in 1 cup baking soda. Let stand overnight, then restart. It will be clean and fresh smelling!

  1. Shall have to give that a try. I've always run an empty cycle with a cup or two of vinegar and that took care of things.

  4. Oh Mari Sweetie...
I haven't heard that one before. You can bet I will be giving that a try. I love the clean smell that baking soda leaves behind. I'll let you know how it goes, I will give it a try soon. (When I don't have a load full).

Hope you are well sweet friend. Thanks again for the tip. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

  7. Thanks for the tip. I use baking soda for a lot of things around the house and leaves a clean scent.
It is sure easy on the pocket too.
    Have a great day.

  8. Oh, I really needed that tip! I'm doing it tonight.

Mari, thanks so much for your friendship, support and advice during my husband's job hunt. We're a little battle weary now, but we're trying to regroup and figure something out. I know we will get something one way or the other :) Thanks again. Hugs!

  12. Well this would be a good distraction of a fix for a problem much bigger over here. You see, my dishes come out scummier than when they went in. I need a new dishwasher sooo bad. But I will try your tip, just for something new to try. Thanks! :)

  14. What a great tip! Baking soda works wonders for smells, doesn't it? We use Baking Soda to wash our dishes often and I love it here and there. Cheaper too!

Come on and visit my Organized Mess some day, won't you?

    Happy Friday!
