Some time ago, Bob entered one of his caricature carvings into a contest done by Woodcarving Illustrated Magazine. A few months ago he got an email that said he was a finalist in the contest, and the winners would announced in the November magazine.

ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. I don't know if I told you before, but Jeff is an aspiring carver. He gets the magazine for Christmas usually...it saves me paying for it and Bethany doesn't have to wrack her brains trying to think what to give him! I love your Bob's work, so full of character.

ReplyDeleteI have to tell you that your husband's carving is much better than mine. I don't do it nowadays but when I did I went to any carving show in the area and there saw so many people whose wood carvings were fantastic. When I saw that, it made me want to crawl back in the hole. lol

I can't believe it didn't win! Looks like the best one to me, by far! I love Bob's work; he is so original and incredibly talented. Someday I want to buy one of his pirate carvings! Maybe he'd carve a likeness of ME as a girl pirate!

Congratulations to Bob! I think that is totally cool. I actually thought the Santa on the front might be his also. He does awesome work. I just hung my Santa from last year on the tree Saturday.
