When I walk through our yard and look at the flowers, there is no denying that summer is coming to an end.
The Black Eyed Susans still look pretty from a distance, but when you get close, you can see that they are getting tired.
I'm not sure what these are, but they still create a pretty splash of color.
There used to be several of these blooming out back, but this one is the lone survivor!

The flowers on the Rose of Sharon bushes still look nice. I like the way they close up in the evening.
These flowers are Fall Crocuses. They need to be planted among other flowers because all summer long, all they have is some really ugly foliage, but when summer comes to an end these pretty flowers pop out!
This area in the back is another that looks nice, until you look closely. Then you can see that the flowers are coming to an end.

Fall - my favorite time of the year!! Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteYou still have a lot of color in your garden and everything looks so pretty. But yes...fall is coming!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Jane
Your garden always looks nice, but I know what you mean the flowers are fading. Fall is coming, and so is winter!!! yuk
ReplyDeleteIt must be wonderful to walk around your yard. It is so pretty! And you have some beautiful pictures to keep the flowers fresh in your mind after the plants wither and die.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you have flowers throughout the year to look forward to. Will the hydrangeas turn colors in the fall? (I have one in my front yard and it went from a bluish color to green.) Keep the pictures of your beautiful garden coming.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - those yellow flowers are dahlias I think.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteHope your ankle is all recovered and feeling fine today.
Everything still looks pretty to me. It's been so hot here that my yard hasn't been as pretty as usual.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kat
You'll have birds enjoying those berries soon!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tour of your beautiful yard.
ReplyDeleteYour photography is awesome!
My flowers are going into their ugly duckling stage..time to start cleaning the flower bed!
all your flowers are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI feel tired like these flowers!! I am a summer girl through and through...fall is another reminder of the inevitable winter ahead. Oh well, spring will come again! :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a heavenly yard you have even if it is wilting a bit!! Just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers still look lovely. I would love to stroll around in your gardens. I have never been in a Michigan garden. They always look so lush to me.
ReplyDeleteI have already cut down and thrown out so many hanging plants. Because of the heat, this wasn't the prettiest summer in our gardens.
I really do not like to see the fall come. I am a summer girl and enjoy the sunshine. The sun looks so melancholy in the fall. Flowers begin to die and the sun is so sympathetic. The only flowers that seem to put on a show are the marigolds. They almost change their summer personality and become radiant! Have you noticed?
So many of my flowers are hanging on like yours but yes they are tired....Time for a new crop of fall flowers to emerge..but like the flowers I have a tinge of wanting summer to last alittl longer...not the heat but the freedom that summer offers....Oh well. Time to enjoy all the great aspects of another season.....
ReplyDeleteAnd I cannot wait to see your pictures as autumn progresses! Hope you're feeling better today, Mari.
ReplyDeleteStill beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove that one particular hydrangea changing color.
