I've got some reading to do...

I've decided I may need to take a blogging break to catch up on my reading!
I've won a few blog giveaways in the last few weeks and these great books have made their way to my mailbox.
The first book I won was Angels by Dr David Jeremiah. It came from Renee of A Path of Joy. I'm almost done with this one and have found it really interesting. Dr Jeremiah uses what the Bible says to share information about angels. Bob has also started reading this one and said he is enjoying it as well.
I then won a book from Simone of Chocolate Covered Day Dreams. This book is named The Help and the author is Kathryn Stockett. It takes place in Missouri, in the 1960's. The story is about the black women who were employed to work for the Country Club set at that time. I've read several good reviews on this book and am looking forward to reading it.
The last book giveaway I won was from Kat of Heart 2 Heart. This one included 2 books; Raven's Ladder by Jeffrey Overstreet, and Lady Carliss and the Waters of Moorue by Chuck Black. Both of these books are christian fantasy, in the order of the Narnia or Lord of the Ring books. I think Bob will be reading these books also, as he enjoys that type of writing.
Thanks to all three of these ladies for providing me with reading material for a while!

  3. Congrats on getting these books. I've heard nothing, but good about The Help. I'd like to read that one.

I know what you mean about making time for blogging and reading. It is hard to make time for both at the same time. :)

  6. The Help is a great book, thought-provoking and entertaining at the same time. I found it especially interesting because I did not grow up in the US so I missed all of the civil liberty stuff. I joined our local library's book club and have thoroughly enjoyed all of the books so far. The Widow's War is one you might like, also The Guernsey Potato Peel Pie and Literary Society. They are both set in fascinating historical periods. I love learning my history through good fiction!
