I want to show you a few more pictures from the hospital Heather was at. They have a cancer center, and one floor of the center is devoted to what they call the Healing Garden. Since Heather was in an adjoining section, we were allowed to go through this area. I thought it was such a well planned area, and a wonderful place to spend some time in prayer.
Here is a view of the conservatory. This whole area is on the fifth floor and has a nice view of
the city.

The outer area on this floor is set up so people can take walks. Eight times around makes a mile. There are several sets of these windows. Each window has stems of wheat etched into the bottom and there is an inspirational quote or verse on each one. There are benches set up so people can rest along the way.
~~~
The inner area of this floor has an outdoor courtyard. There is a labyrinth in the center, some sculptures and lots of plants. Although the sun was shining on this day, there was still snow on the patio, so I didn't go out, but admired it through the windows.
Don't you think this is a wonderful area for patients and families?
i think it is very nice for hospitals to make their surroundings peaceful and pleasant. having to be there is usually stressful and that helps in finding peace and solitude. this looks like a really nice place.
ReplyDeleteWow...that is some hospital! Continuing to pray for Heather.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great deal of planning that was patient and family oriented went into this hospital...how wonderful. Even what may seem like a standard proceedure causes stress, its nice to know your surroundings don't have to contribute to it. That fountain reminds me of hands lifted in prayer.
ReplyDeleteHope Heather is resting well and healing quickly...praying going up!
All I can say is WOW it looks like a marvelous place to heal. My heart and prayers are with Heather today.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day filled with Gods sweet blessings, Mari. :o)
