I thought I would share some of the handmade ornaments we have hanging on our Christmas tree.
These are ornaments we've had for a while. The bells were on our wedding cake. The little ball below it is something my sister-in-law was making the first time I met Bob's family. She had been given kits to make for a bazaar. We laughed at them because we thought they were so ugly. She surprised me with a gift of one that Christmas and it's hung on our tree every year since (usually toward the back!) The tree in the middle says Merry Christmas on the front, but I wanted to show you what Andy wrote on it when he was 7 years old in 1996. The red beaded ball is one Heather made a few years ago and the bell was made by Laura when she was 8.
It's fun to see these and bring back the memories!
These are beautiful, especially the bells from your wedding day.

Homemade is definitely the best! Loved seeing some of your special ones :-)
ReplyDeleteLove them all. I'd love to know how you made the angels. I can't wait until my Santa from Bob gets here! :) I don't think that ball you called ugly looks so bad in the picture either. Actually looks kinda cute.
ReplyDeletethis is one of my favorite things about putting up a christmas tree ! i love all the memories that come with each ornament ! and you know ... i have some birds on our tree that were part of our wedding too ...
ReplyDeleteI attempted to do a vlog of my handmade ornaments but thought I sounded too cheesy so I deleted it.

ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful! When did you start putting your wedding bells on your tree? I think that's a wonderful idea. I'll have to go in the attic and see if mine have disintagrated yet after 44 years!
ReplyDeleteHal buys me a new ornament every year, the worst was the year he bought me one of the Detroit Lions. That's in the back of the tree!
I love looking at other people's trees and ornaments and reading about them. I hope you post your Christmas tree so we can all see the full picture.
ReplyDeleteThe wedding bells are lovely. Amazing beauty for your tree.
