I'm so blue...

Actually I'm not really blue, I've just been challenged to find some blue! Sandi, at Whistlestop Cafe challenged me to find 7 blue things in my life. So - here are 7 blue things, which I either love or are important in my life.

I love blue skies! Whatever the season, if the sun is shining and the sky is blue, it makes me happy!

Flowers! I love flowers and my favorites are blues and purples.

This is my chair and my blanket. I got this queen size, soft and fluffy blanket for Christmas a few years ago. I spend much of the winter snuggled up in it to stay warm!

I live near Lake Michigan and love it. It's a real blessing to have a big lake so near us. This picture was taken when we were on a tall ship, touring the lake.

I love Febreze! I am always lighting candles here because I like to have my house smelling good. The Febreze can be sprayed all over and everything then smells so fresh!

I love my pj's. So soft, warm and comfortable!

This is a picture we have hanging in our family room. Technically, only the frame is blue but I'm sharing it anyway! It's a pencil drawing of the Au sable lighthouse, but the reason I love it is that it was done from one of my photos, by one of my patients. The patient was a quadriplegic and he does his drawings by holding a pencil in his mouth and sketching. He always had such a good attitude in spite of the difficulties he had to deal with and I enjoy my memories of him when I look at it.
That's the end of my blue post. Feel free to join in if you want to~

  1. This is such a precious post, I am so glad I dropped by today.

It is a busy day for our family as we are celebrating my grandson's first birthday... I stayed up late last night finishing the cut out decors, and today we will be cooking for the party this afternoon.

But, something in my heart prompted me to visit you before logging out, and am I glad I did.

First because you are such a loyal blog friend, almost always being the first to comment on my posts. You don't know how much that encourages me.

THen, because blue is also my favorite color, and among the pictures you shared, the sky, the blanket, the blue flowers... they are also among my favorite blue things. I have this blue blanket from Chiang Mai that will always remind me of Ernie...

And then, the pencil sketch of the lighthouse... so meaningful! Lighthouses are among my favorite scenes, in addition to clouds against the blue sky, and sunrises...

I just want you to know you blessed my heart so much today.

    Love

  6. What a creative idea! And you took the color blue and gave a positive response on each one.

I love the story of the pencil drawing. I can tell by your posts that your patients must look forward to you coming around. I know you are an encouragement to all of them.

  7. Your choices really reflect your sweet spirit. Not a negative in the bunch. Blue is my favorite color, and I love each of your choices. I LOVE blue skies, I always notice them and they always make me happy. I also love your blue blanket, I have one that is all earth tones, and I think I now need a new blue one!
I have to say that the drawing is awesome and the story behind it begs to be told. How precious to have such a wonderful piece of art with an ever greater memory behind it.

  11. Great post!
My favorite color would have to be green. I have a shade of green in every room of my house, except the entry way which is yellow.

  12. Mari,

This is a great post. I love all the blue things in your life and that sketch is amazing. You were truly blessed when your patient gifted you with it. Stunning.

If you get a chance, be sure to read "The Book of Negroes." It's an amazing story.

Hope you had a great day.
    Blessings,
    Mary
