While we were in Colorado I had the chance to meet a long time blogging friend. My friend Renee, from Life at Aspen Trail Hill lives near where we were going to be, so we arranged to meet her and her family on Sunday and go to church with them.
She is just as sweet in person as she is on her blog. We had a wonderful service at her church and enjoyed meeting her adorable daughters and her husband!

After lunch we went to the Air Force Base.
It's beautiful inside. These strips of stained glass, are around every spire you see from the outside, which makes it almost glow inside.
This is the organ loft in the back of the chapel.
After we left the Air Force Base, we went to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. It's a huge place with a lot of memorabilia from past Olympics. We saw the torches from the past 3 Olympics that were held in the states, along with a luge and one of the flames that burns while the Olympics are being held. There is a neat area that has walkways with the flags of all the countries that participate.

Mari,
ReplyDeleteI had to do an article on the Chapel a year or so ago and the history is very interesting.
Glad you were able to meet your friend. Her daughters are adorable. Nice photo of you all.
Enjoyed the photos. I'm hoping there's more to come.
Blessings,
Mary

ReplyDeleteThat chapel is beautiful!
The stained glass in that chapel is amazing. I'm sure it was more beautiful in person than the pictures were able to convey.
ReplyDeleteThe Olympic Training Center had to be a cool experience. The girls and I got to go the finals of the Women's National Skating Championships (or whatever they are called) back in 2004 (I think)in St. Louis, which was an Olympic year. It was really neat.
That's fun that you got to meet a blogging friend. One of these days we'll get to meet up, and neither of us will have to go so far. I still think Ikea is a good choice!
How nice to have a lovely meet up like that! Those photos are amazing too. I'm so glad it was a great time.
