Shannon, from Rocks in My Dryer posted this fun Meme in honor of Labor Day. I thought it was fun so I'm playing along!
This one is all about labor - not the holiday type!
How long were your labors?
Kid 1 - 16 hours
Kid 2 - 24 hours (maybe this was because she weighed 9'6"!)
Kid 3 - 10 hours
How did you know you were in labor?
Kid 1 - water broke
Kid 2 - Pain! (there was nothing easy about her birth, but she was an easy baby once she came!)
Kid 3 - regular contractions
Where did you deliver?
All three, in the hospital. It took long enough that there was no problem getting there!
Drugs?
None. Not that I didn't want them. With all three, it was too soon when I asked, then all of a sudden, it was too late!
C-Section?
No - regular delivery for all of them.
Who Delivered?
Again - there was no problem with the Dr getting there to do it, so he delivered all three.
That's it. You may play along if you like. Otherwise - hope you enjoy your Labor Day!

ReplyDeleteCute Idea! Boy you would never know Heather would be the hard labor! She is such a sweet quiet young lady!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! Glad that those labor pains are just a memory now :) Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeletelabor day? nice twist on it.
ReplyDeletebut for me it is just a holiday which is just like any other day.
Oh, the memories. Induced both times, and this post of course, induces my memory thereof! : ) Wouldn't trade my 2 blessings for the world!
ReplyDeleteKid 1: 25 hours of hard labor with a total of about 36 hours ending in a c- section.
ReplyDeleteKid 2 and 3 were C-Sections
Kid 4 and 5 adopted.
Blessings, andrea
Mari,
ReplyDeleteWOW that definitely takes the definition of Labor Day to a completely whole new level.
Thanks for sharing all these wonderful details about becoming a mom with all of us. Here is hoping that you are spending the day relaxing!
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
I hope you've had a great Labour day - loved the labour stories too. You are such a lovely lady Mari, it shines out in every post and every comment you make.
ReplyDeleteLabor Day + labor stories = FUN
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this...ouch on #2!
My first was 9 lb. and too big to fit into the cute newborn clothes I had ready.
Both by c-section and I had them knock me out completely for both. A little squeamish when it comes to blood :-) My first came 3 weeks late, the second was 3 weeks early.
My baby will be 23 this week. Long enough that the awful pregnancy (lost weight rather than gained it) and post-surgery pain are only dim memories. Of course, as soon as they laid her in my arms, it was all worth it :-) It always is, isn't it?!
Cute Meme and cute pic.
ReplyDeleteLet's see, I was in labor for about 5 years - that's how long it took to adopt Ryan.
What a cute labor day tag. Enjoyed reading yours.
ReplyDeleteHugs!

I enjoyed reading your answers. Mine were so unusual, especially the girls, that I couldn't do this. It wouldn't make a lick of sense. I've come to the conclusion that there isn't much in my life that fits nicely in a compact q & a format. It just makes me all the more special, right? :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant with Gracie, I told the Dr that I deliver fast. And I wasn't lying- the Dr missed the delivery.
ReplyDeleteThe nurse lifted up my sheet to check on me and there was Gracie on the bed.
Whew, no drugs with a nine pounder. Mine with no drugs was only six pounds. Good for you ;)
