What does a messy kitchen:
I like to take a day and cook freezer meals occasionally. It's wonderful to be have meals ready to go when the day is busy and they are also handy to give to someone else. I had Wednesday off and spent the day in the kitchen. I made: 1 Mexican Manicotti, 2 Crowd Pleaser casseroles, 2 Cheesy Chicken Spaghetti, 3 Pasta E Fagioli, 2 Cheesy Chicken soup and 3 Parsley Parmesan Chicken. That should last us awhile! Some of these are new and several I have made before. They are all things that freeze well. It's really worth a days work and the mess to have all these meals done!
You are really organized! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteA great days work that will keep on giving! Way to go Mari!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed! Those dishes sound good! CHEERS! Michele
ReplyDeleteWow That's incredible!! I may have to try some of those recipes, yummy!!
ReplyDeleteyou did a great job:)
I am so totally jealous! I would love to be this organized and prepared! A friend and I were just talking today about a book she has that details how to cook for a month (I think?) all at once and freeze it. Sounds wonderful in theory... now you're nearly proving it can be done! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever, organized, and energetic! I love this idea, Mari! I need to do more of this myself.
ReplyDeleteYUMMMM!
ReplyDeleteCan I come to supper?
Please post the recipe for Mexican Mannicotti.
Wow, you sure were busy. I hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThey all sound so yummy!!! That is a great idea... I've done a little of this before but only one dish at a time! I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteThat is so great to have those in your freezer. It might come in handy like maybe when you have the flu to have your husband throw in the oven:)
ReplyDeleteOh, how I've missed reading your blog. You inpsire me SO much. I want to set aside a day this January to do a bunch of meals. My Dream Dinners cookbook really helps me!
ReplyDeleteYour freezer is so organized. And, the dishes look SO good.
You've just answered the question, "when's dinner gonna be ready?"...answer...as soon as we get to Mari's!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!
Hi, I've something similar to your idea. After coming home with groceries I'll cook a few meals that I have planned for the week. This is nice if I'm having a bad day and don't feel like cooking...Kae
ReplyDeleteand i thought i was all smart remembering to pull out the bag of frozen chicken wings for tonight. i clicked on the freezer chicks link...i'm pumped!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a plan, Man. I have lacked in this area this year.
ReplyDeleteI've done that a couple of times & loved the results!! I must note that your kitchen does not look messy at all :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a great idea, Mari. Though I stay at home and have more time to cook, there are some busy days when frozen meals would be very useful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog and leaving a sweet comment! I have always wanted to cook an entire day and freeze them, but never do it! You have inspired me to schedule this on my calendar! I read your profile and saw you have a son in the military I am a military wife to a Marine for 15 years.

Wow you got a lot done, good job :)
ReplyDeleteYum! Good use of your day off!
ReplyDeleteI used to bulk cook on occasion and always enjoyed having good food ready to go in the oven on busy days. Sure miss my freezer!
I went over and printed out the recipes - thanks so much for sharing these! I could stand a messy kitchen if I could make my fridge look like that as a result. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm salivating over YOUR KITCHEN! Forget the food, girl. I want the countertops. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you ever watch Robin Miller on Foodtv? Every time I watch her I feel inspired, "yes, I'm going to DO that this time!" but I never have. She makes a week's menu look so easy, it's half prepped ahead to make it all simple and quick when it's time to put it together. And she even gives you a grocery list. Very clever.
Good for you - a full fridge/freezer is always a GREAT feeling!!
Way to go! I just love when I have the chance to do that. What makes so much sense is that you keep reusing the same pots and pans and utensils, and then wash everything up at the end of the day. Then for weeks you don't have to wash those pots and pans and utensils.
ReplyDeleteI saw your status and wondered if you were doing this at home. You are amazing! Can I pay you to do this for me, hehe.
ReplyDeleteI have done the groups at a place of business a couple fo times and loved, loved, loved having the meals all set to go on my work days. Now with the food issues that I have it just doesn't fit my lifestyle. I wish I had your ambition to do it myself at home.
That looks so tasty!!!
ReplyDeleteMari,
ReplyDeleteIt all looks and sounds delicious. Can we please have the recipe for your Crowd Pleaser casserole.
Blessings,
Mary
It all sounds and looks so good! Nothing better than a meal ready and waiting on those crazy, hectic days.
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell the cooking here in Minnesota! :) You are very organized!
ReplyDeleteOHHH!!! What a happy little freezer you have:) Wonderful!

Mari I really envy you. If I did this it would help out alot.
ReplyDeleteMari I really envy you. If I did this it would help out alot.
ReplyDeleteI just found you through "Blessed".
ReplyDeleteThis particular post really speaks to me as I've been more homebound and sick and would really like to get more meals in the freezer. I love to cook, anyway. Now that I've seen this I would like to do up a few meals on one of my "good days." Thanks for sharing!
Good for you! I did this once or twice but it just didn't work out so well for me. I know several people who swear by it though.
ReplyDeleteAmazing !! I need to do this again !
