My friend Mel, from There's no place like home, did a post about her favorite music. It made me think about what I'm listening to this week. I got a new CD last week that I am really enjoying. It is by Bart Millard, who is the lead singer of Mercy Me. The name of the CD is "Hymned". It's the old hymns I used to sing in church when I was young, but without the organ and a little peppier than they used to be in the church I grew up in. I love praise and worship music, but I also love this. To see what songs are on this CD and to hear a little bit, click here. I love to put this on and listen while I am working around the house. Bart Millard just released a new version of this called "Hymned Again". To check out that CD, click here. I can see that I'll have to add that one to my CD collection too. There is nothing like good music to put a smile on your face!
most music that I listen to is good music, weather it be Big Band, Swing, Huammered Dulcimer, some rock and roll,Gospel and Christian. Hugs and God's Blessings.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, sounds like a good one for your collection:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I hope more people will stop by and check out my "Mel's Monday Music Meme."
ReplyDeleteGod bless you and yours!
We love MercyMe and I clicked over and listened to a few tracks on both of them and they are good. I'm going to keep an eye out for them.
ReplyDeleteI really like Mercy Me too. I can only Imagine was at Randy's funeral. I love the sound of Mercy Me and I went to listen to what you posted and those old hymns sound great the way that he did them on the CD's.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing me that.
Sounds great Mari! I love old hymns and love to see them remixed!
ReplyDeleteI have this CD and have nearly played it to death. My favorite was the MeeMaw song because it reminded me of Mother. I like most of the songs on it but when I carry it in the van, I have a tendency to push buttons skipping the ones that are a little too crazy and replaying over and over the ones I like.
ReplyDeleteOh Sweet Mercy! (sorry but I had to say that)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this CD! I know you told me about it already but now that I've heard it- I want it NOW!
It reminds me of Dave from church- I bet he would love it too.
Love this CD! It puts a little extra "zip" into old favorites.
ReplyDeleteI love this too. Nothing like memories from the past with an added jazz!
ReplyDeleteyes I totally want the cd hymned again, I have heard a lot the music on it and it is very good.
ReplyDeleteThis holds a special place in my heart. It hadn't been released yet but they were starting to play "Mawmaw's Song" on the radio right before Mark's mother passed away. We called the radio station and asked if there was a way to get a copy of the song to play at her funeral. They loaned us their copy. It was very moving!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I were just talking about missing hearing some of the old hymns from our younger days... but wanting to hear them updated to today's style. We'll have to get both of these cd's. Thanks for the heads up! Hope you're having a great week.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I LOVE Praise & Worship music! Thank you for posting about this because I've been trying to think of what to get my hubby for his b-day this month...definitely going to get him this one!!
