More flowers

This time of year it seems like something new is blooming every week. Here's some of the newest blooms in our gardens.
.
This is an Oak Leaf Hydrangea. The flower heads aren't as ball shaped as regular hydrangea's and they flower for quite a while. This bush looks nice even in the winter, because the woody part of it has a nice shape. The branches and stems are very twisted, so are interesting to look at.
.
The climbing roses on the arbor are starting to open up. We wish they would fill in more, but it's a start!
.
Here's a closeup of those roses. Aren't they pretty?
.

These are Stella D'oro day lilies. They flower for quite a while, and make this a cheery place to sit!

  1. I love your arbor and your day lilies. They remind me of some orange ones we had in New Jersey, but they must have been a different variety. Your yard looks like a peaceful place to hang out and have a cup of coffee (with a Starbuck's mug of course!).

  2. Mari, those flowers and your yard is very nice/beautiful! It would be nice just relaxing in the yard. I have a yard like that too. I have noticed those same oro lilies in my yard and some roses and other things popping out too.

  3. Your flowers are very pretty, & the bench is inviting but I bet the mosquitos will eat you alive at certain times of the day. This year they are horrible!!

  10. I LOVE your rose arbor. The color really shows off the color of the roses.

I like lilies too but that bench is just the best! It is so pretty up against the backdrop of those evergreen trees. The bench with the lilies would make a pretty picture for the front of a card.

Oak Leaf Hydrangea....we have been seeing that bush around and liked it but didn't know the name! Thanks for posting it.
