Sisters and Friends

What a fun day I had today! My sisters and I met Ginger from Just a Thought for lunch. Before I tell you about our time together, I have to give you a little history. Ginger and I went to school together, from kindergarten to graduation. We saw each other occasionally in the almost 30 (!) years since we graduated but not often. Last spring, after I started blogging I noticed comments on Short Stops blog that made me want to visit the commenter's blog. I don't know many Gingers, but I was still surprised when I went to this blog and saw that the Ginger who was commenting was the same Ginger I went to school with. (She hasn't changed much!) I have so enjoyed reading her blog, getting to know her family through it and reading all of her insightful thoughts. She also started reading my sister Terri and Cheri's blogs. We decided it was really time that we met and had lunch together. Ginger is a brave woman and decided she could handle us all at the same time. She may be rethinking that at this time. We really did have a good time. Good food, good fellowship, good laughs! There was a problem getting a picture, because people were laughing and goofing off!
This one turned out a little better.
.
What a blessing to meet up with someone from your past and have them become part of your present! We'll have to do it again sometime and who knows what other bloggers we can find to take along!

Hey, I will be closer to you all - we're going to Hawaii for Christmas, haven't booked it yet, but soooo excited. My hubby has been a few times, but it will be a first for the rest of us.

Did you notice that we didn't even wear matching outfits today?

  15. Awesome! How fun when blogging friends become real world friends. It is neat to see how we all connect. Everyone seems to know someone pre blogging or live in the same town as someone they met through blogging, etc.

I am sure you all had plenty of laughs. I would say "Take me! Take me!" like everyone else here, but oh yeah, I LIVE IN KOREA!!!

  17. I'm thinking that someday we should rent some really big place (possibly the DeVos...) and have all the Michigan bloggers, (and anyone else who wants to drive up...) come and spend a day together - wouldn't that be fun!

  24. I love receiving your comments Mari. I don't mind heading into autumn, it's been a pretty long summer, we
had great weather and our autumns adn winters are pretty wild. You never see snow in Auckland for example. I wouldn't mind a bit now and again though :-) I shall enjoy hearing all about the forthcoming spring in Michigan of course. Oh grotty is a British word - being a British girl I bought it over to New Zealand with me (I hope the Kiwis don't mind). Big blessings to you.
