The army's got nothing on Mom!

Here's how I found Andy the other day - sleeping on the couch! You would think that life here would be a breeze compared to army life, but we seem to have tired him out.

Actually, he is enjoying himself, doing things with some friends and having fun. He's not working too hard, although when I came home from work on Wednesday I found that he and Heather had taken down all the Christmas stuff and put it away for me. I was really happy that I didn't have to get to that yet this week. Wasn't that nice?

We have 5 days left to enjoy having him here. I think they will be busy for him because there are lots of people who want to see him. I know they will go by too quickly for us!

  1. OH! I want them to come take down my Christmas stuff and put it all away for me! Please? I just don't think I have the energy. They don't have to come immediately - I can wait for Epiphany.

  4. A-ha! I am figuring out this circle of friends. I have Melissa, Jennifer and you in one grouping now. How is that for organizing? My husband laughs because you should see my favorites. I can't find anything! Ha!

I would say that you have trained your children well! You came home from work, and they have all the Christmas decorations put away. My daughter would have done that but my two boys would have said, "What decorations?" (:

I read all about your church online today because Jennifer left me the URL. It sounds like a really good church. I know that I have enjoyed getting to know some of you.

I do a lot of teasing so they may have a different opinion of me. HA! Ha!

Oh, Oh, Oh, your daughter's name is Heather! So is mine! My daughter is working for World Vision out in Seattle, Washington. Before that she worked at the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Colorado Springs for several years. She is a video producer. I must get over to your daughter's blog and find out about her.

This is more like an email, sorry!

  5. Mari I am so glad there is someone else out there that has taken their decorations down. Usually I leave them up until New Year's day, but for some reason I was just tired of it all and took them down today. My family thought I'd lost it!

I did leave out a few of my favorite snowpeople though!

  7. I woke up dreaming about you and your sisters this morning. HA! Can you imagine? I figured that was a good reminder to be praying for your time with Andy. I was wondering how long he would be home with you. Relish every moment. The memories are so helpful to hang on to when you need a little pick me up.

  11. As a mom there is NOTHING sweeter than watching your baby (no matter how old they are) sleep on the couch! (How precious it is)

Do you have anything else special planned while he is here?

(PS - I am SO excited to see that you are able to spend time with your son on this Christmas holiday)

  17. I just took my tree down today. The kids didn't want me to take it down but they helped me more today than when I decorated. Go Figure!
Enjoy your last few days with Andy

  22. I would imagine being at home with y'all would be more hectic than the army - I have a feeling poor Andy is getting no time to himself with the girls perched over him!

  23. Okay, you can tell I started from the top post and working down. (I asked about Andy in my earlier comment)

Could you send your son to take down my decorations too? :) What a blessing to come home to.
