I saw this last week on my friend Ginger's blog and thought it would be fun to do as well. It's all about taking time to notice the positive things in life.
Today I:
1... saw 2 women supporting each other as they sat at the bedside of their Mom and Aunt who was dying. They have shown such love toward her and each other as they wait for her to enter heaven.
2... ate chicken salad on a croissant for supper. Bob was working tonight, so I didn't want to fuss with supper. This was easy and really good!
3...recieved a package in the mail from the army. It had a letter thanking us for being suportive parents. It included a certificate, proud army parents bumper stickers, and army parent pins. I also recieved a call from Andy saying he got his ticket to come home for Christmas!!!!
4... I seem to be getting a cold, so I went to the store and bought cold tablets, cough drops ...for me!
5...did the laundry and picked up a prescription for Bob.
6...I had a crazy day at work today; one would have thought it was a full moon the way some of our residents were acting. One of the ladies was trying to tell me to write a report because someone had stolen her things. (not true) and was going on about a "dirty woman" who came into her room. (There was no woman). The funny thing was she then said to me - "Marilyn (she always calls me that) I think that woman isn't right in the head!" I had a hard time keeping a straight face!
what a cool idea. i'm so glad andy got his ticket...i can't wait to see him!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHm... Now I know this sounds impossible, but from the description in that last one, I could swear you were taking care of my Grandmama today! ;) Totally how she thinks.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you have tomorrow off, but I still say you shouldn't have gotten that ole' flu shot, it back fires all the time... Hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteGlad you heard from Andy!!!
Cute post too.
Never a dull moment for you Mari! I thought this was fun and joined in too.
ReplyDeleteGet some rest and take some vitamin C - at least that is what my dad professes you need when you feel a cold or whatever coming on! Did I mention that he is NOT a Dr.- but he does have a doctorate - just in LAW. LOL!
ReplyDeleteToo funny about your patient!
Sweet blessings!
Renee
Hope your feeling better soon! Just stopped over to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThat's cool Mari! I believe you are right about the full moon. It seemed every time there was a full moon we always had issues with my sister Darlene! I'm so glad Andy is coming home, this should be a great Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteI like this post! And I love the story about the resident! AND YAY!! for Andy getting his ticket! Only a few more weeks and he'll be home!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited Andy has his ticket- what a special Christmas this is going to be this year! I can't wait to see that boy!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll save this to do next week. Sorry about the cold. Hope your medicine kicks in!
ReplyDeleteThis was such a cute post, I loved it :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also sick with a cold right now, hope you feel better :)
Sorry you are getting a cold. Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you put it on your list I guess you are staying positive inspite of a cold.
ReplyDeleteHow great to get your package from Andy! Love it! Woohoo, I hope Christmas comes quickly for you!
I'm sorry you're getting a cold. Get some vitamin C in you and feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThat was cute. I hope your cold is better soon - mine has dragged on all week. I bought some pricey medicine today hoping it will help. $25 for Mucinex-D. So far, so good. It was better than the $103 they wanted for the allegra-d.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your son is coming home! Yeah!
You know what works better than cough drops? Rub some Vicks Vapor rub on your feet and put some socks on and it'll stop that cough fast!
ReplyDeleteLoved the cartoon too. :)
How fun to get a package to honor you as parents!! The last one made me chuckle out loud!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea... I'll have to do this one soon. encouarges us to really remember each day... even the "little stuff". Thanks for sharing!
