This week a challenge was put out there - "open up your cabinet doors and let us see inside". You may ask "who would want to see this?" People who are very organized, with their cabinets nicely clean, that's who. People like Jennifer from Gathering Grace and Megan from Fried Okra. Well - I love a nicely organized cabinet and actually have been known to enjoy cleaning them out. However, it doesn't happen nearly enough! You have been warned. That being said, you are welcome into my kitchen. Above is the cabinet with my regular dishes and glasses.
Here is a lazy susan cabinet where I store things like measuring cups and Tupperware.
This is a very small cabinet, but I really appreciate it. It handles all the things like cookie sheets, cupcake tins, cutting boards... Because they are not stacked up, it is easy to get whatever I want out.

Here things get worse! This is a pantry that is built over the stairs that go to the basement. This pantry stores a lot, but it is really difficult to keep organized. I have to stand on shelves to get things from the top and it goes so deep it is hard to get things from the back. I am really glad to have it though - where else would I put all these things?
So there you have it - my open cabinets. Anyone else dare to share?
Yours look better than mine!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's not so bad, Ive seen far worse...
ReplyDeleteYours look fine. You have an unfair advantage. I'm going to use my children for the excuse why my cupboards are a mess. You should see Dad's cupboards now. I don't think I have every seen them so empty.

ReplyDeleteTerri - what does rmancat mean? Mom - your cupboards don't look so bad. And I have seen the pantry in FAR worse condition that that! :) Maybe I'll have to give this a shot too. I try to keep it pretty organized (you know how I am...)
ReplyDeleteAw now you made it sound like your cabinets were a jumbled up nightmare, but that is just plain not true. They look pretty organized to me. I'm with Laura though I must know what rmancat means.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love a humble woman, not to proud to play along! :) I crack myself up finding this a fun game to play.
ReplyDeleteWe have the "everyday" dishes, too. $15 from Kroger, plain white, plain blue. I figure, if the kids break them, no biggie. If they get chipped, who cares. And your tupperware looks great! I don't own one of those lazy susans. I grew up with one, though... the trick was to keep stuff from tipping off down the backside. What a pain. Yours doesn't look like it's going anywhere, though!
Good job, "dravo," as Jack says!
Jen
It didn't sound bad until your dear sweet daughter informed the whole world that she's seen them much worse!!!
ReplyDeleteAll right folks - I accidentally hit the enter key. I was not really trying to type anything like (rmancat) Unless you all want to think this is some secret language between sisters!
ReplyDeleteThere is no way on earth that I would let anyone see inside my cabinets right now - very brave
ReplyDeleteThey look pretty good! I had to follow the link from Jennifer's blog to see for myself. :)
ReplyDeleteOh noooo, more cabinets! =) I really can't do it...but now I see them everywhere... maybe... actually, no. Can't do it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us in! I know I'd have to straighten to perfection before I could stand to show the world; that's not quite the point, is it? My pantry is similar--nice and deep, but not a walk-in by any means.
