The other day, we were having a day at home just doing our normal things. The sun came out and we both remarked about how beautiful it looked with sunshine on the brightly colored leaves. We decided it was too pretty to just do chores at home and we headed out for a drive. Here's a few pictures I took along the way.
Another old barn with lots of pumpkins in front of it.
One last barn, this one is very near to our house.
It was a great way to spend an afternoon, admiring God's Fall artistry!

This post remind me of the phrase "Stop and smell the roses". You stopped and enjoyed the lovely paradise of fall. What gorgeous sights!
ReplyDeleteI thank you for sharing this with us - I love my home - but we don't have those unique barns and scenery like you do. It is so gorgeous there Mari.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a gorgeous drive you had. The last barn is so huge!! Maybe it is a combo with the house as well. I love the green barn with the pumpkins in front. Even the roof matches! And the gorgeous trees on the path and in the cemetery!! The second barn looks like a business of some kind. Wonderful shots!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views, dear Mari. I love ❤️ the ๐ barn. Thank you so much for sharing ๐
ReplyDeletePerfect Fall pictures! I love the barns too the clouds are beautiful in the 3rd picture.
ReplyDeleteI definitely love Autumn ! Here winter is arriving with frost next week we will go from 15 to -2 C.
Oh, they are so beautiful Mari! Some of them look good enough to live in. I wish I had a barn like that.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful you chose to share these with us Mari. So much beauty in each and every picture. The barns!!! I love barns and these are some beauties. Stunning photos!! I know you all enjoyed this drive.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful scenery and barns. My grandparents would put rocks to designate different pastures on their farm. Not sure if that is what this one meant though. We got 6 inches of snow on Sunday and it is still on the ground. UGH Janice
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful autumn photos, Mari! You have such beautiful places to drive and see.
ReplyDeleteThat stone does look significant, doesn't it?
That's how we were during out 4-day weekend. Just too nice to stay in and do chores. Had to head out. I totally get that.
ReplyDeleteThat tree with the stone is so good. Just invites my eyeball in and that there wasn't anything written on the stone, makes it even more curious.
Well done. Loved seeing these.
Everything is so beautiful. Those barns are extremely impressive! I'm glad you got out and about for the day.
ReplyDeleteAll of the pictures are gorgeous. Fall is such a beautiful season.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely drive! I'm so happy you took me along with you!
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! Is it all covered in snow now?
ReplyDeleteMan those are some stunning barns. Better than some homes! Thanks for sharing the barns of your area. I love barns too.
ReplyDeletemy favorite is the 2nd barn, love that color and shape and cupola, the windows on the green barn are awesome. I love barns to and would have enjoyed this ride a lot.. Most of all I love old falling down worn out rugged really old barns..
ReplyDeleteSigh ... your countryside is simply gorgeous. I don't blame you for going for a drive. I too love barns and there are a few around our area but most are on little 2 lane roads with no place to pull off for a good shot.
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the country cemetery and the fall landscape is a definite wall hanger to me.

Wow you got some amazing shots. I've never seen such pretty barns, I can see why you stop and take a picture. The last one, the large Green One is gorgeous. And your leaf color amazing. We've not had much leaf color here this year. The weather folks say it's because of our extreme weather....too wet early followed by too hot for too long. You were wise to enjoy the day, the chores can wait. I'm out visiting everyone on my blog list to catch up, as it's been far too long since I've blogged. It sure feels good getting back into it.

You sure captured some beautiful barns. I don't often see green barns.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colored fall colors too. A perfect day for a drive.
Good idea to take the day to drive and enjoy the beautiful fall colors. I like the old green barn!
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you took a drive, and some lovely photographs, and then shared them here ... all so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your November days.
All the best Jan
Beautiful scenes and I love that green barn.
ReplyDeleteI taking delight in the beautiful cloud formations your photos show. I too am loving the sky these autumn days! Those days of just taking off and enjoying time together are good.
ReplyDeleteYou don't see green barns very often but the ones you shared are quite impressive and made a great backdrop for the fall colors around them! Beautiful countryside, Mari!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous barns there are in your area, Mari. The last one especially is beautiful. I could get lost in it! The colors of autumn that you have captured are gorgeous. A lovely way to spend some time, indeed.
ReplyDeleteYou live in such a picturesque area! Your photos all look like they could be framed and sold in shop. I love that green barn. How charming!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us on your drive with you.
Oh Mari - all of these photos are stunning! Such a perfect time of year to capture. And how fun is retirement you can just enjoy that on a whim? ๐ Love it and thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad y'all seized that moment and did not miss a wonderful opportunity to see all of that beauty! The GREEN BARN is everything! And of course the metaphor in the road shots is almost too much to bear in the fall. As for cemeteries in the fall, it truly does not get any more poignant and peaceful than that! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to just drop everything and go for a drive in the middle of the week! When we're old we'll do that, hahahaha!!
