Here we are in November already!  Here's how the first day of the month went for me.
I started the day, as I do every day; heading downstairs to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes.
Then it was back upstairs to get ready for the day and eat a boiled egg which is my daily breakfast.  I seem to be a creature of habit!  It was rainy and cold; 41 degrees. This is the view from our living room window, beautiful even in the rain.
Then it was time to get some work done.  I started a load of laundry.
I put together some slider sandwiches, some will be for supper the next night and some for lunches.  They are ham and cheddar and turkey and swiss on Hawaiian rolls.
I cleaned the bathrooms and scrubbed the tub.
I finished my Sunday School lesson for the next day.
Even though it was still drizzling a little, Bob and I decided to take a walk down our road. I'm so enjoying the Fall color.
These woods are down our road and I love to walk in them.  I'm afraid those walking times are soon going to be done for this year as the snow will be falling.
After we came back from our walk, I settled in with my computer to work on continuing education classes for nursing.  My license is due for renewal and I need to finish the education requirements. I'm not working, but I'm not ready to let my license go yet because if you don't renew it, you can't go back and do it later.  So - I studied hypertension and heart rhythms.  I'm almost done!
In the meantime, our neighbors had been raking leaves and were trying to burn them.  With everything wet, it was pretty smoky.  I actually like the smell of burning leaves, and thought it fit this season.
We met Laura, Aaron and the girls for supper.  We were celebrating Alaina and Ruby's birthdays.  Alaina turned 14 the week before and Ruby is turning 11 next week.  How did they get so old?  We had a great time together.
After supper, we drove home.  It was still sprinkling. We're almost home, our house is on the left.
We had a relaxing evening, turned on the fireplace and we watched a show on YouTube about restoring British military towers. It was a good start to a new month!

I LOOOOOOOVE that table area and the view! OMG. I could sit there for hours and read, draw, write and bake. What a great spot.
ReplyDeleteHi Mari! I love your 1st of the month "day in your life" posts. You had a very productive November 1st! Good for you for getting the license recertification done! I love walking in the fall leaves too. Wow, your granddaughters are growing up quickly. Just like mine! The years go by so quickly. I can't believe that our oldest grandson is 19 and his sister will be 18 and graduating from high school in May. I love that new fireplace - so cozy and inviting! I hope you enjoy the coming week. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Mari! I love eggs for breakfast! Your fireplace looks amazing! I also love the table and the view....and the smiling faces!

ReplyDeleteWhat a nice day you had - the Fall backdrop out your windows is gorgeous. You really get the kind of Autumn that everyone wants. Those sliders look so good. I know you had a recipe for them once.

ReplyDeleteYour girls are growing up. Love the look into your day.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing and busy day you had. The Fall colors are amazing and I would have been walking in the rain too to just enjoy them. Your Grands are so cute and Happy Birthday to them.
ReplyDeleteNow I want sliders too.
And now I would love your view too.

Hello Mari. I so enjoyed seeing all of your beautiful autumn pictures today. And it made my heart happy to see that fireplace being used. Such a nice picture of your daughter and son-in-law and the girls. It looks as though you all had an enjoyable meal together.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous Fall pics Mari! We have snow in our forecast already - yikes!! Planning to get in more walks for that reason too. I think it's so smart that you're keeping up your license just in case. Happy birthday to Alaina and Ruby! May their year ahead be so blessed. I love how cozy your home looks and sure seemed like a great start to the month. In this month of gratitude know how thankful I am for you! ๐๐งก
ReplyDeleteIn all the years (20+) that I had a treadmill in my home, it never occurred to me to attach a fan to the handle bars as you have done. What a good idea!
ReplyDeleteI no longer have my treadmill but here in Florida I can walk outside and that's okay.
Beautiful colors along your walk.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to the girls. Yes, they are growing up fast.
You fit a lot into a day!
A lovely post and photographs.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was a good start to the new month.
Happy birthday to the girls.
Enjoy the week ahead.
All the best Jan
Happy birthday to your grands :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading about your day - Happy November to you! Oh the beautiful leaf-lined walk that you have - it is gorgeous!!! I love boiled eggs too - enjoy an egg or two every morning. Simple, wonderful days are the best, aren't they! I liked how you photo-journaled your day. Blessings to you dear friend!
ReplyDeleteI love your new fireplace!! I also love that I have been on that road to your house! The girls are such sweet young ladies, but you are so right about time going too fast!! Happy birthday to both of them!! Sending hugs and a reminder that Avelo Airlines fly right into Lakeland from Grand Rapids... incase that snow gets too deep and you need a few days away!! xo
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great way to start the month! Everything looks so lovely too...I love the fall colors and even in the rain, it all looks more vibrant. You really covered a lot of territory for one day! How wonderful to celebrate birthdays with your sweet grand-girls. They do grow up way too fast these days. I love your fireplace! Looks warm and cozy! I enjoyed the whole day. Thank you for taking us along!!
ReplyDeleteThat second photo is my favorite - it was absolutely gorgeous! Loved your sandwiches - you make them at one time and then eat them later on? Love your new fireplace. Happy birthday to the girls. Such a pretty street you live on.
