Annual Granddaughter Shopping Trip

When Alaina started school we started a tradition of Grandma taking her out shopping for some new shoes, and just having a fun time together. When Ruby started school, she came along.  This year, Cassie is starting preschool and the older girls said we had to all go shopping together.
Since school starts this week, we had our shopping day last week.

Laura took this photo of all of us before we left.

They wanted Chik-fil-A for lunch.

This Chik-fil-A had a play area so we spent a little time there.  (Cassie would have stayed all afternoon if we let her!)

Then it was time to look for shoes.  Here's the shoes we found for Cassie.

Ruby with her shoes

And, Alaina with her shoes

After getting shoes, we moved on to look for some tops. We went to Target, but were disappointed in their selection.  We couldn't find anything.

We went to the Mall where we found some things.

Our last stop of the day was at the frozen yogurt place.

Cassie said "Maybe we can come back tomorrow?"

One more picture when we got back to Laura.  The sun was shining in our eyes!

After leaving Alaina and Ruby, I took Cassie home.  She was sad to leave the girls - she thinks they are the best!

Shortly after I got home, this happened.  I've mentioned that we've had an official drought going on, with the lowest amount of rainfall on record.  We'd had 1.5 inches since June 1.
On this day we had 2.25 inches!  We were so thankful for this rain.  It was a great day from start to finish!

  4. Cassie sure is growing up. I remember those times when she tried to spend the night but she just missed her mommy and daddy too much. Now look at her, hanging with her cousins and not wanting it to end. It makes my heart happy and a little sad - they grow up too fast.
That’s a sweet tradition you do with the girls. Like I say, making precious memories are worth more than anything.
Oh that rain looks so nice. I’m looking forward to our rainy season - around Oct/Nov. We haven’t had rain since April.

  5. Cassie looks like she is having the time of her life! What a great before school tradition. All the shoes are really nice, and Alaina's look like Converse. They are popular around here and I just bought our granddaughter a pair. The photos of the four of you are really good!

  7. I have the same tradition with my grandblessings! I always take them to get new clothes and shoes. My grandson is the shoe person and couldn’t care less about clothes. My granddaughter wants it all and then some! Funny story…we always have chick-fila too!

PTL on finally getting some rain, well not actually Some but 2.25 inches is a lot at one time. Your thirsty plants I'm sure were rejoicing.

  20. What a wonderful tradition to have with your granddaughters. It sounds like such a special day for all of you. It's so sweet that Cassie wanted to stay at the play area all afternoon, and that quote from her about coming back tomorrow is just the cutest. It looks like all three girls found some great new shoes. How perfect that such a great day with the girls was capped off with the much-needed rain. That must have felt like a beautiful, and well-deserved, gift after such a fun day.

I've just published a new post on my blog. I would be honored if you would take a look at www.melodyjacob.com.
