Flowers are bursting open in our area. It's so fun to watch this happen. Bob and I take a walk around the yard daily and find new things coming to life. Here's a few things that we're enjoying.
Bob moved this azalea last year as it wasn't getting enough sunlight and only got a few blooms. It's much happier here!
The dwarf lilac is almost ready to open up. The flowers look just like regular lilacs, but are about 1/4 the size.
These are alliums, purple balls that are so fun!
Our Japanese Maple has tiny little red seedlings that I think are pretty cute.
The snowball bush...
All the hosta plants are growing.
These lily of the valley are so delicate and pretty, and they smell wonderful!
This is one of our favorites. It's a type of Viburnum bush. The flowers bloom along the top of every branch giving it an unusual look.

ReplyDeleteI can't believe how north you are - all that snow - and then all these GORGEOUS flowers come up. One is prettier than the other.
ReplyDeleteThe Lily of the valley are my absolute favorite. So delicate and a great photo! Many of your flowers don’t grow around here so they’re really nice to see. Except for the azaleas - we call them coast rhododendron here and they grow under the redwood trees.

Don't know if I've ever seen a Viburnum bush. I will try to remember how this looks so I can keep an eye out for any. I have never heard of Dwarf Lilacs, now I want one. Our big Lilac bush bit the dust a few years ago. But my very favorite is your Lily Of The Valley! They are so sweet, and I don't think I have ever seen any around here!

Love all of the pretty flowers and shrubs. Was thinking about getting another snowball bush as I miss having one which I had at my previous home. Our lilacs are blooming too and smell wonderful. Janice

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...it is blooming out everywhere there and I LOVE it!! How glorious it all is. I'll live through you a while and wait patiently for more blooming here. Lol I need to move our azalea too - it's definitely not in a good spot. I just hope we don't kill it in the transition. 😂 Blessings to you both! xo

You are definitely having some beautiful blooms to enjoy now. Love the color of the Azella. I had a Lenten Rose that had been given to me a few years ago and apparently it didn't like its location either, so Carroll moved it last fall. What a difference it made!
ReplyDeleteYour Snowball Bush made me think of my paternal grandma. She had a huge one at the end of the front porch that was so pretty and full of bloom each spring.
The Viburnum bush is beautiful. I think the unusual way that it blooms is what makes it so attractive.

I guess the snow protects the plants in the ground. Thank you for taking us along on your walkabout your property! I enjoyed it so much.
