You may remember recently when Bob took Alaina and Ruby into his wood shop and they made reindeer. I had posted some pictures of this on facebook, and a neighbor commented that she knew a few boys (her sons) who would love this.
Bob said he'd be happy to do something with them, so on their Christmas break they came over and spent the morning in the wood shop with him.
Here they are with their finished bird houses. They were excited to bring them home and had fun making them. And Bob had fun spending the morning with them!
I love this. What a sweet ministry! Your husband is so nice to do this with the boys. They did a good job and maybe this birthed in the boys a desire to pursue woodworking!

ReplyDeleteI loved seeing this! I wish that kids had more opportunities to do these kind of things. This is something that these kids will never forget. A big shout out to Bob for doing this for these kiddos. Just look at the smile on these precious faces....LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful post, how nice of Bob! (The other day my six year old grandson Wulf asked my husband for a board, so he got him one. Then Wulf said, "Can you cut it for me? I want to make a box." So, next time he comes over, there will be a project. Good clean fun and positive attention, it's just so nice. :)
ReplyDeleteHow nice of Bob to be able to spend the time with those boys! He created a memory they will have for the rest of their lives!
ReplyDeleteThat was so wonderful of Bob - what a nice man. The boys loved it and learned at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI just love those proud and happy expressions on their faces. Terrific job on the bird houses and how very kind of Bob to give them lessons in building. Kids sure need that kind of projects nowadays. Schools don't seem to have classes in those skills. Its a pity.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos too.
Sue

Wow, Mari!! This is truly a ministry!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Mari, I bet those young boys will never forget their time with your hubby! What a blessing!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of Bob to do this with those boys. It is something they will remember when they get older. They need to bring back Home Ec and Woodshop back to our schools. Such a shame what they are being taught nowadays in some schools. Janice
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice morning for the boys!
ReplyDeleteThis just makes me smile ear to ear! How precious of Bob to give of his time like that. Not only letting those boys learn some woodworking lessons...but I'm sure life lessons get thrown in with the details too. And look at the pride on their faces when they finished! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is just about the greatest thing I've heard of in a while. For Bob to take his time to patiently work with them and help them to actually build something is truly precious. And the birdhouses are wonderful! xoxo
